Woollahra Village House – Tobias Partners

This contemporary home sits behind an existing, unassuming Neo-Georgian façade in the heart of Woollahra Village, NSW. Created on a humble scale, the design approach was driven by the need to preserve the existing masonry and pitched roof of the original heritage home while completely reconfiguring the interior.

Vessel – Madeleine Blanchfield Architects

Vessel is a Victorian Terrace situated in a quiet enclave in Darlinghurst. This house, for a professional couple, was to be an urban oasis and to house the many facets of private life within the existing rooms and a new rear extension. The Kitchen is the mesmerising focal point of the extension.

Yukari House – Tanev Muir Architects

Yukari House achieves a delicate balance between Australian and Japanese influences, providing a greater sense of place, belonging and connection to its Byron Bay setting. A balanced renovation kindles additional amenity with site connectivity - enabling a stronger weave between the sense of place and the comforts of belonging.

Verdant Residence - Mim Design

Verdant Residence - Mim Design

Located in Melbourne’s South Yarra, Mim Design has reinvigorated a family’s Victorian maisonette with a contemporary touch. The home itself required careful consideration re-establishing a Victorian thread with the past history of the project. The appliances steered the design philosophy at Verdant Residence to create a seamless, elegant and pared back design with detail that mirrored the equipment.

Hannah House 2 - Alexi Robinson Studio

Hannah House 2 - Alexi Robinson Studio

Hannan House 2 is a mid-century modern house in Beaumaris designed and built by artist Shirley Hannan and architect Joe Palliser in 1972. The house is defined by its extensive use of Daniel Robertson bricks, timber ceilings and tiled floors and follows the levels across the site to form a series of inner courtyards and landscaped gardens, where the kitchen seeks to inspire connection and enjoyment that has become increasingly important to family life.

Auhriri - Studio Prineas

Auhriri - Studio Prineas

Auhriri is a late Victorian semi-¬detached home, in a leafy street in Sydney's Inner West. Studio Prineas sought to retain and celebrate the original Victorian language and introduce a complementary architectural expression to the extension with a light-filled interior sensibility. The kitchen sits between two courtyards creating an interplay of internal and external environments.

Monument – K2LD

The Monument penthouse embodies modern minimalism, seamlessly balancing simplicity and sophistication. Its design embraces natural light, sculptural forms, and refined materials, creating a timeless aesthetic. The design brief called for a contemporary design that would showcase the essence of the Armadale lifestyle and how to improve residents’ standard of living.

Kirra Gardens – C. Kairouz Architects

This platinum kitchen forms part of the Kirra Gardens multi-residential development in Camberwell for the penthouse apartments, offering a sophisticated and luxurious lifestyle experience. Featuring dual island benches in striking Caldo Grigio natural marble, rich dark oak finishes, and refined detailing, the kitchen has been designed as an entertainer’s dream that harmoniously blends elegance, comfort, and function.

131 Smith Street – Freadman White

131 Smith Street is a multi-residential project in Fitzroy, Melbourne, blending contextually driven design with the area’s historical character. A rich material palette defines the interior, with deep tones in the foyer transitioning to lighter spaces beyond. Apartments feature natural timber, refined marble, and bespoke joinery, engendering a warm and uncomplicated calmness.

Cala Dei – Spyre

Cala Dei – Spyre

Cala Dei, a pinnacle of Spyre's portfolio, redefines luxury coastal living on the iconic Greenmount headlands of the Gold Coast. Comprising 29 meticulously crafted apartments, it innovates beachfront living through its inspired architecture and integration with the natural landscape. The design, influenced by the fluidity of the coastal surroundings, harmonizes with its environment, while interiors mirror the beach's colors and textures.

Thornton – Bureau Proberts

Thornton – Bureau Proberts

Thornton is a residential tower in Brisbane's inner-city suburb of Kangaroo Point. The building’s planning and form responds to its desirable river aspect and outlook, with operable living spaces positioned to connect to the Botanical Gardens, Story Bridge, adjacent parklands and ferry. Thornton's kitchens, crafted in collaboration with renowned chef Thierry Galichet, combine functionality with ventilation and views of the Brisbane River and CBD.

Honu, Moffat Beach – Holm Developments

Honu, Moffat Beach – Holm Developments

The architecture and irreplaceable location of Honu speak for themselves. It is such a rare opportunity to develop land on one of Queensland only north facing headlands. The five full floor apartments provide an unparalleled level of sophistication, design and finish. The kitchens are thoughtfully integrated into the open-plan layouts of the shared living, dining and entertaining spaces.

GAGGENAU KITCHEN OF THE YEAR DELIBERATION DAY

The judges deliberation day took place at Gaggenau Melbourne on the 26th June 2025, where an esteemed jury validated the shortlist and deliberated each project against the Gaggenau Kitchen of the Year design contest criteria of; authenticity and originality of design, quality and design execution, performance and end user considerations, the integration of Gaggenau.
